And what an entrance she made. On Wednesday, January 20, sirens sliced through the stillness of our street – awash at four o’clock a.m. in the red glow of lights from two fire trucks and an ambulance – to announce her impending arrival, and less than two hours later, she was with us.
But I’m getting ahead of myself. And what happened between my last pregnancy update and the morning we finally met our younger daughter is part of Ruby’s birth story, and should be included in its telling. All of that, and the account of our first days as a family of four, will take more than one post, however. For now, we just want to introduce our littlest girl:
